The Happiness Dare
Years ago the Peanuts cartoon caption read, “Happiness is a warm puppy.” The point of it is that some of life’s simple pleasures are the ones that bring us the most satisfaction.
If we are getting our happiness from having our favorite candidate win or from seeing world peace, we will be disappointed. Yet, when we get right down to it, the things that make us happy are not these “things”.
If you have been overdosing on politics, give yourself a break and listen to our show on how you can find happiness, peace and satisfaction with your life.

Vaxxed
Few topics are more personal and controversial than the topic of whether to vaccinate your child or not. The purpose of this newsletter is not to alienate or advocate, but to provide information.
During my first term in the House of Representatives, people started questioning whether vaccines caused autism or not. We all knew that autism was on the rise. Most legislators, even with the Republicans in charge, reacted to the increase in autism by pushing for more government programs and insurance mandates. Historically, the Republican Party advertised itself as siding with smaller government, (unless an issue has the potential of generating votes and money—then it can use the issue for leverage.)

Better Days Ahead
It’s easy to become discouraged when we look at the condition of the Country and the economy. However, we have some bright spots that warrant your focus.
Now that the campaign is over, my schedule is freed up to do more of the activities that can make a big difference. One I enjoy most is public speaking. Please let me know if you have an event where you would like me to speak:

The Home Front
Now that we have the primaries behind us, it’s time to re-prioritize what’s really important. What’s happening on the inside of your home matters every bit as much as what happens on the outside—possibly more so.
We are going through a time of adjustment to the new reality that our Country is shifting to the left. I asked my credentialed philosopher son to explain to me why this is so. He said this is what happens when Christians stay home. A lot of people wore themselves out to preserve the Nation, discovered that we lost many races to those on the left, gave up and quit.

What Next?
Some of you are trying to process what just happened last week. The voters demonstrated what is important to them. Most of the candidates who were higher on the moral, conservative and Constitutional scale lost to bigger government candidates. There were a few exceptions, but in every election there are always electoral disappointments that sadden me even beyond my own.
There is no question our Country is shifting to the Left end of the political spectrum. The question remains how we should deal with this new reality. My deepest gratitude goes to my family and my faithful volunteers. They walked with me in five parades, painted floats, put up signs all night long, cooked us meals, collected money at our fundraisers, designed our website, posted new content on our website, made video recordings, sent out newsletters and —most importantly—prayed for me. That was huge.

Fire Congress!
This is a picture of us at one of our five parades we were in this year. The dozens of volunteers who came out to help with all of our parades were the best in the Country!
We’ve had a lot of fun trying to make a difference. Here is a last message I have for anyone who may still be undecided:

Let’s Improve Our Country!
This photo was taken at our Family Farm Barbecue we had last Saturday. From Left to Right: Gregory Thompson, Coach Dave Daubenmire, Chris Clegg and myself. The Coach gave us a pep-talk. Even if you couldn’t attend, I want you to enjoy his message. You can hear it here:
One of my friends asked me if he always yells like that, but when you consider that he’s a football coach, it makes perfect sense. Just pretend you’re on the football team and this is half-time.
Want some encouragement? For those of you who may be suffering from an overdose of watching political party conventions with all the theatrics, conflicted values and divided loyalties, I have good news. The Missouri Republican Assembly is a grassroots movement willing to flush out the RINOs and endorse true conservatives, who believe in small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and a decent America.
They just endorsed me!

I was recently on the Diane Jones Morning Show in Franklin, Missouri. Here is the recording of the interview.
It’s hard to know what to say given all the violence erupting around the country. My heart goes out to all the family members of the police officers who were killed for just doing their jobs.

Welcome Home!
A tear trickled out of my eyes as my husband and I were sitting next to the computer monitor when I saw the first glimpse of my son returning from his deployment to the Middle East. The welcome he received reminded me of how it may feel to go to our eternal heavenly destiny at the end of our lives. In a sense, all of us are heroes by the efforts we employ to save and protect our Country and its people.

Islamic Jihad
One of my Facebook friends posted this:
Let me try one more time to get this right:
Thousands of Islamic Terrorists are planning to slaughter American civilians on American soil. Obama’s and Hillary’s response is to :
1.) Disarm the American people.
2.) Import more terrorists.
